Douglas Electric provides professional access control system installation services in Auburn, NY. We help businesses and institutions control access to critical areas using scalable, non-proprietary systems. Whether you’re securing a government office downtown, restricting access to sensitive medical records at a clinic, or managing employee entry at a warehouse near the Finger Lakes Railway corridor, we offer solutions built to fit your property.
Commercial Security System
Our team takes a hands-on approach to your security upgrade. We tailor each system to your building’s layout and user requirements, while minimizing installation disruption. Systems often include:
- Door access control system design and installation
- CCTV installation for entry points and parking lots
- Window break sensors
- Life safety system integration
Each project includes a coverage diagram to help visualize access points and zones.
Components of Access Control Systems
Our Auburn access control systems include all the essential hardware and wiring components needed for dependable performance:
- Security Doors: Metal, glass, or wood doors retrofitted with electronic locks and contacts.
- Electronic Contact and Lock: Ensures secure closure and sends real-time status to the system panel.
- Access Panels: Centralized control units that manage permissions for authorized users.
- Request-to-Exit Devices: Push-to-exit buttons or motion sensors to ensure safe egress during emergencies.
Electronically Locked Doors
These systems allow only verified personnel to enter protected areas using:
- Keypad Panels: PIN-based access control.
- Card Readers: Badge or keycard scan authorization.
- Swipe Panels: Magnetic stripe readers for ID swipes.
- Biometric Scanners: Fingerprint or palm recognition for high-security areas.
Most systems require verification to enter, but allow free exit via motion or push-to-exit devices.
Non-Proprietary Access Control System
Our systems are designed to avoid vendor lock-in. You get compatibility with multiple manufacturers and freedom to upgrade or expand as your needs evolve—without paying extra for proprietary licensing or locked features.
